Stubbs Lab in Puerto Rico for the Cold Spring Harbor conference! Sun, sand, and systems biology along with the world’s experts in regulation!
Stubbs Lab members Annie Weisner and Michael Saul recently explored the Beijing Genomics Institute in Shenzhen, China for a wide-reaching workshop in exciting new methods in genomics. This was done as part of a yearly exchange program the Stubbs Lab takes part in through the IGB.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The house mouse, stickleback fish and honey bee appear to have little in common, but at the genetic level these creatures respond in strikingly similar ways to danger, researchers report. When any of these animals confronts an intruder, the researchers found, many of the same genes and brain gene networks gear up or down in response.
Congratulations to DR. CHRISTOPHER CHASE BOLT on completion of his thesis entitled:
Regulatory dynamics of the Tbx18 locus in mouse urogenital development
See: A distant downstream enhancer directs essential expression of Tbx18 in urogenital tissues for some background on Chase’s research.
The Stubbs lab and GNDP theme presented an exhibit on variations of taste and smell to K-4 Children at the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum at IGB’s Genome Day today. Here are some photos from the event.
A new paper from Chase Bolt is out in this month’s issue of Developmental Biology. The paper examines the vertebrate T-box transcription factor gene Tbx18, which performs a vital role in development of multiple organ systems. (24854998)
Welcome to our newest Postdoc, Michael Saul, who comes to our theme from UWM to study behavior in the Simons Project!
